PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems such that a Phyllotreta striolata is a beetle of a parasite to a plant of Brassicaceae such as Raphanus, etc., and since its larva lives in soil and gives damages by eating the roots of the plant, the growth of the plant is inhibited, and especially the root vegetables such as the Raphanus, etc., have serious damages such as the deterioration of commodity value by vermin damage marks and also the eat-damages of the leaf of the plant, and conventionally in the controlling of the larva of the P. striolata, an organophosphorus agent (diazinon granules, etc.), a carbamate agent (benfuracarb granules, etc.), a synthetic pyrethroid agent, a gas agent (tefluthrin granules), etc., are used mainly.
SOLUTION: This method for controlling the larva of P. striolata is characterized by using the insecticidally effective amount of bifenthrin in the soil and also by using the insecticidally effective amounts of bifenthrin and at least 1 kind of an insecticide selected from a group consisting of fostiazate, cadusafos, imicyafos and chlorfluazuron.
