An optical scanning observation system includes: an endoscope having an optical scanning portion for scanning an object with an illuminating light emitted from a light source portion a drive signal generation portion configured to generate a drive signal in accordance with a driving voltage applied to the optical scanning portion an electric-current measurement portion configured to measure an electric current value of a drive signal supplied from the drive signal generation portion to the optical scanning portion a first storage portion in which a measured electric current value that is measured by the electric-current measurement portion when the temperature of the optical scanning portion is a predetermined temperature is stored in advance a second storage portion in which a plurality of correction parameters that are set in advance according to the size of the measured electric current value are stored and a correction processing portion configured to perform processing that corrects a scanning range of the endoscope by reading in from the second storage portion a correction parameter that corresponds to the size of the measured electric current value that is read in from the first storage portion.
