Salt-water algae in particular have great potential to convert CO2. Energy-intensive centrifuges are used to separate the algae from their natural aqueous environment. The present invention discloses a method for harvesting algae from an algae suspension, according to which the algae suspension is concentrated by means of a membrane filter, producing a first filtrate consisting of a first nutrient liquid and a first concentrate consisting of an algae suspension. An energy-efficient harvesting method can thus be provided for the recovery of algae from an algae suspension, in particular microalgae in a microalgae suspension.
