PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guidewire excelling in torque.SOLUTION: The guidewire includes a core shaft having a tip portion and a rear end portion, and a hollow stranded-wire body formed by twisting a plurality of element wires. The core shaft includes a small diameter part including the tip portion and extending over a predetermined region from the tip portion side toward the rear end portion side, and a large diameter part located on the rear end portion side more than the small diameter part and extending over a predetermined region from the tip portion side toward the rear end portion side.
