PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrocardiographic device for a vehicle, in which the feeling of incompatibility due to a capacitive coupling type electrode provided to a seat is reduced.SOLUTION: The electrocardiographic device for a vehicle includes: a direct electrode 2 which is provided to the steering wheel 1 of the vehicle and detects the body potential of a driver by being brought into contact with the skin of the driver a capacitive coupling type electrode 6 which is provided to the seat 4 of the vehicle and detects the body potential of the driver in an electrically insulated state and an electrocardiographic instrument 8 for measuring electrocardiographic signals of the driver on the basis of the potential in the direct electrode 2 and the potential in the capacitive coupling type electrode 6. A recessed part 30 for which urethane 26 and urethane 28 on the lower side of the cover 29 of the seat part 4a of the seat 4 are recessed is formed over left and right hip parts of the driver, and the capacitive coupling type electrode 6 is housed in the recessed part 30. Also, the electrocardiographic instrument 8 is arranged between the left and right hip parts of the driver inside the recessed part 30.
