The current invention explores the process for formulating bisoprolol loaded biolayers for the translingual delivery and also explores the unique potentialities of lingual mucosa with distinguished histology, blood supply and nerve supply. Thermally modified gummy exudate of Anogeissus latifolia is used for preparing biolayers.the biopolymer was characterized for its IR, NMR, MASS, DSC and drug excipient and interaction studies with bisoprolol. Biolayers were prepared by incorporating bisoprolol into the biopolymeric solution which is prepared by dispersing in distilled water and followed by sonication along with other co-processing agents and the solution was dried at 37°c naturally and the biolayers were separated and evaluated for its folding endurance, surface pH, thickness, disintegration time and in vitro drug release etc.The biopolymer showed promissing inbuilt layerablity and the formulated bisoprolol biolayers showed significant 86.19% fo in vitro drug release with in 35 minutes.
