A dosage form comprising: a) a core having an outer surface and first and second ends； b) at least one indented pattern on said core； wherein said at least one indented pattern contains at least one wall； wherein at least at least one wall has an angle of deviation of the wall from the vertical of approximately 25 degrees or less； and c) coating on parts of the outer surface of the core. 2. The dosage form of claim 1, wherein the at least one depressed pattern has a depth of greater than about 0.25 mm. The dosage form of claim 1, wherein the coating is a film coating. The dosage form of claim 3, wherein the film coating comprises hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. A dosage form according to claim 1, containing at least two indented patterns on said core. The dosage form of claim 1, wherein the core is a compressed tablet. The dosage form of claim 6, wherein the compressed tablet is elongated. The dosage form according to claim 1, wherein the core contains at least one active component, the dosage form comprising dissolving at least one active component in accordance with a rapid release profile. The dosage form of claim 8, wherein the at least one active component is selected from the group consisting of acetaminophen, acetylsalicylic acid, ibuprofen, naproxen, ketoprofen, flurbiprofen, diclofenac, cyclobenzaprine, pseudoephedrine, phenylephrine, phenylpropenorphamine, chlorphenophenorphine, chlorphenenframinamine, chlorphene phenamine, chlorine, phenylprophenolamine, chlorphenenframinamine, chlorophenenramine, chlorophenenframin, chlorine, phenylphenenramine, chlorophenenframin, chlorine, phenylphenenramine, chlorophenenramine, chlorophenenramine, chlorophenenframin, astemizole, terfenadine, fexofenadine, loratadine, desloratadine, cetirizine and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts,1.
