The invention relates to a disinfecting cleaner for removing coatings which form on the surfaces of drinking water supply facilities and drinking water containers that come into contact with water, and for simultaneously disinfecting said surfaces, wherein the means have the form of a solid composition containing at least one alkaline dithionite in an amount of >;10% by weight, a complexing agent in an amount of >;15% by weight and a substance that buffers the pH value in an amount of >;3% by weight for setting a pH value in the range of 4.5 to 8.5, and wherein one or more biocidal substances from the class of aryloxy alkanols, particularly 2-phenoxyethanol, in amounts of >; 0.1% by weight are also used as a disinfecting additive, together with one or more detergent substance(s) in amounts of >; 1% by weight. The invention further relates to the use of said means for removing coatings and for disinfecting drinking water supply facilities.
