The invention relates to an agricultural machine for dispensing material to be distributed, in particular fertilizer and/or seed, which agricultural machine comprises at least one metering element (100) having a metering roller (101) for metering the material to be distributed, which metering roller is mounted in a metering housing (102) and is rotatably driven. The metering roller (101) has a plurality of metering wheel segments (103), each metering wheel segment (103, 104) of the metering roller (101) being assigned a separate drive (104) in order to drive the metering wheel segments (103, 104) independently of each other and in this way to ensure exact metering of the material to be distributed within finely subdivided partial widths of the agricultural machine. According to the invention, the drives (104) of the metering wheel segments (103, 104) of the metering roller (101) are arranged within the metering roller, for example within a tubular hollow body (105), on which the metering wheel segments (103, 104) are mounted, such that the drives (104) are ideally accommodated with protection from external influences and in a space-saving manner. The invention further relates to a metering element (100) of the type indicated above.
