To provide a steel artificial fishing reef capable of preventing a fishing gear from being caught to length/lateral/diagonal framework materials for constituting a frame structure adequately and reliably, and having an extremely simple structure, and also capable of being easily made by using inexpensive materials circulated abundantly in the market.SOLUTION: A steel artificial fishing reef is made of a frame structure assembled from steel framework materials comprising a longitudinal vertical member 3, a lateral cross member 4 and a diagonal member 5 and having the form of three-dimensional cubic lattice. At least any framework material constitutes a projection rim 10 where any end 8 showing up in the cross section perpendicular to the length direction extends to the lengthwise direction of the framework material. In the projection rim, an axial shielding member 11 protruding from an end to a framework material along this and for shielding the projection rim from a fishing hook R is bonded.
