The present invention relates to a classifying system for recognizing a walking motion based on a surface electromyogram signal comprising a first classifying device and a second classifying device. The first classifying device receives a first feature value extracted by a first algorithm, from a first signal generated by the walking motion, and outputs 1 or 0 according to the first feature value. The second classifying device receives a second feature value extracted by a second algorithm, from a second signal generated by the walking motion, and outputs 1 or 0 according to the second feature value. The system shows one among four walking motions according to the combination of the output values of the first and second classifying devices. The first and second classifying devices are formed by using linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and are trained by an EMG sample signal of the walking motion, and training data including walking motion data corresponding to the EMG sample signal. The first and second algorithms include one among a plurality of feature extraction algorithms.
