PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which improves fitness by improving generation of distortion and wrinkles in an absorbent core when worn and can suppress liquid flow.SOLUTION: In an absorbent core 24, a plurality of recesses 4A to 4C are formed in a scattered state in a vertical direction X and a horizontal direction Y is formed in a core back part 24B to be positioned at the back of a central position of an absorbent article in a vertical direction, a central recess area 55 having a plurality of recesses 4A are formed in a central part in the horizontal direction Y of the core back part 24B, and lateral recess areas 56 having a plurality of recesses 4B are formed on both sides having the central recess areas 55 in between respectively.
