Disclosed is the use of a long-acting Factor VIII (FVIII) polypeptide in the manufacture of a medicament for decreasing the incidence of a bleeding episode in a human subject, said medicament being formulated to provide the human subject with a therapeutic dose of the long-acting FVIII polypeptide, wherein the therapeutic dose is about 20 IU/kg to about 90 IU/kg, and wherein the medicament is formulated to be administered at a dosing interval of every 72 hours or longer.
