The arrangement (10) has an electro-optical converter (26) converting digital data generated by an imaging device (14) into an optical signal (30). A distal end (22) of a data transmission element (20) is optically coupled to the electro-optical converter to transmit the optical signal to the element. The imaging device comprises data outputs (32, 34) for outputting digital output signals (36, 38). A signal converter (40) is arranged between the imaging device and the electro-optical converter for combining the digital output signals with a digital combined output signal (42). The electro-optical converter is designed as vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) diode. The data transmission element is designed as a light conductor and a monomode-fiber. The signal converter is designed as a multiplexer. An independent claim is also included for an endoscopic capsule.
