A wheelchair or mobility scooter suspension includes a frame (502), a drive assembly pivot arm (534), a drive assembly (504), a front caster pivot arm (506), a front caster (520), and a spring and shock absorbing assembly (518). The invention seeks to provide more stable suspension to aid in negotiating / climbing inclines or declines e.g. curbs, bumps, driveways and uneven footpaths. The drive assembly pivot arm (534) is pivotally connected to the frame (510). The drive assembly includes a drive wheel (532) and is mounted to the drive assembly pivot arm (534). The front caster pivot arm (506) is pivotally mounted to the frame and coupled to the drive assembly pivot arm (534). The front caster (520) is coupled to the at least one front caster pivot arm (506). The spring and shock absorbing assembly (518) is pivotally connected to the drive assembly pivot arm (534) at a first pivotal connection (550) and pivotally connected to the front caster pivot arm (506) at a second pivotal connection (552). The suspensions is configured such that the majority of the force is applied to the drive wheel.
