The balloon is provided with at least one radial opening (225) surrounded by a wall (230) in order to fragment at least part of the clot, wherein each of said radial openings receives at least one fragmented part of the clot upon inflation of the balloon and retains at least one fragmented part of the clot when the balloon is at least partially delated.
