A needle assembly includes a needle unit and a needle case. The needle unit 12 includes a needle tube 16, a needle hub 18, a needle protection member 20, and a movement restricting portion 96. The movement restricting portion 96 can be displaced between a blocking position that restricts the movement of the needle protection member 20 from the protection position to the use position and a retreat position that permits the movement of the needle protection member 20 from the protection position to the use position.
