PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root canal plugger capable of easily positioning a gutta percha point at a root canal, and capable of more tightly filling the root canal.
SOLUTION: The root canal plugger is a dental instrument for filling the root canal with the gutta percha point according to a vertical pressurizing method. The dental instrument includes a needle tube and a midline penetrating the needle tube. The needle tube has such an inner diameter for the gutta percha point to be inserted and held, and the middle of the needle tube is curved. The midline has flexibility, and has such length and thickness as to extrude the gutta percha point inserted and held on the distal end side of the needle tube. The needle tube has such an outer diameter to enter the root canal orifice, and has a stopper in the outer surface to abut to the root canal orifice to regulate the depth of penetration. The stopper is slidable in the axial direction relative to the needle tube. After the gutta percha point is inserted and held into the needle tube in such a state as partly projecting, the projecting part of the gutta percha point is immersed in eucalyptus oil to be softened.
