A novel CFTR calibrator compound is provided that is effective for the structure of the halide efflux, delF508-CFTR protein processing, and vertex functional chloride ion transport in cells. Methods of treating protein folding disorders (e.g., cystic fibrosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) are also provided. The method comprises administering a CFTR calibrator compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or prodrug thereof.
