A wound dressing member (919) is provided for use in a vacuum bandage (10, 11) connected to a vacuum source (12) . The wound dressing member (919) is also provided for use with a wound (16) having a wound surface (18). The wound dressing member (919) includes a wound facing surface (84) adapted to be in contact with and generally conform to the wound surface (18) and a plurality of discrete holes (36) formed in the wound facing surface (84). The member (919) further includes a port (51) configured to communicate with the vacuum source (12) and with each hole (36) formed in the wound facing surface (84). The wound dressing member (919) further includes a stand-off (940) having interconnected portions (942, 944, 946) coupled to the wound facing surface (84) and configured to provide a space between the wound facing surface (84) and the wound surface (18).
