PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microneedle array and a method of manufacturing the same capable of quantitatively holding a medicament by applying the medicament only to the tip of a microneedle, and also holding the medicament to prevent the medicament from peeling off due to piercing.SOLUTION: A step is provided on the tip of a microneedle, and a medicament is held on the step. The size of the edge of the step preferably ranges from 10 &mu；m to 100 &mu；m, and further preferably ranges from 14 &mu；m to 50 &mu；m. The raw material fo the microneedle may be water-soluble polymer, or high polymer which can be subjected to injection molding or press molding. The step is provided so that the medicament holding amount can be quantitatively constant only by applying the medicament to the tip, and also the medicament can be prevented from peeling off in piercing the skin with the microneedle.【課題】本発明は、マイクロニードルの先端部のみに薬物を塗布し、薬物を定量的に保持でき、かつ刺入により剥がれ落ちないように保持させたマイクロニードルアレイとその製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】マイクロニードルの先端に段差を設け、その段差に薬物を保持させた。段差の縁の大きさは１０μｍより大きく１００μｍより小さいものが好ましく、１４～５０μｍであるのものがさらに好ましかった。マイクロニードルの素材は水溶性高分子でもよく、また射出成形あるいはプレス成形が可能な高分子であってもよい。段差を設けたことにより、薬物を先端部に塗布するのみで、薬物保持量が定量的に一定となるほか、マイクロニードルを皮膚に刺入するさい薬物が剥がれ落ちることを防止できる。【選択図】図２
