PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasound diagnosis apparatus capable of identifying an acoustic coupler, without installing electrically special structures for identifying the type of the acoustic coupler into the acoustic coupler and an ultrasound probe.SOLUTION: Based on the ultrasound waves received by the ultrasound probe 101, an image expanding in a depth direction from the ultrasound transmission/reception surface is generated.
