Polymeric shells which fit over natural teeth to change the perceived color of the teeth, and optionally to provide orthodontic support. The shells are prepared by thermoforming selected polymeric sheets which contain optical additives； the optical additives cause the combination of the shell and the teeth to have a desired appearance. The shell preferably has transparency of greater than 75%, particularly greater than 85%.Cette invention concerne des coques polymères qui recouvrent les dents naturelles pour en modifier la couleur et éventuellement servir de soutien orthodontique. Les coques sont fabriquées par thermoformage de feuilles polymères sélectionnées qui contiennent des additifs optiques, ceux-ci permettant à la couleur de la coque et à la couleur de la dentition de se combiner et d'obtenir l'aspect esthétique recherché. La transparence de la coque est de préférence supérieure à 75 %, en particulier supérieure à 85 %.
