Pharmaceutical composition containing ibuprofen and/or other drug as fixed dose combination produced by melt extrusion process is described. The lower melting point of ibuprofen was giving a plasticizing effect in melt extrusion process. Extrudates of ibuprofen and/or other active pharmaceutical ingredients as fixed dose combinations without use of any plasticizer developed via continuous hot melt extrusion process. The obtained extrudates further may be milled to get the desired particle size for tableting purpose. The resulting granules are having very high drug loading with a better flow properties. The developed high dose immediate release formulation showed desired immediate release profile of drug/drugs.
