PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article whose absorber is flexibly deformed in response to across-the-width compression by the thigh part of a wearer to hardly give the wearer uncomfortable feeling, and which prevents twisting caused at the side part of a napkin also to be hardly decreased in leak prevention.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 includes a surface sheet 2a, a rear surface sheet 3 and an absorber 4. Compression grooves 6 formed by integrally compressing the surface sheet 2a and the absorber 4 toward a skin-noncontact surface, are formed on a skin-contact surface of the absorbent article, Both sides of a center line extending in a longitudinal direction of the absorbent article respectively have a longitudinal groove 6s as a compression groove 6 extending along the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article. The longitudinal groove 6s includes high compression parts 60 and low compression parts 67 surrounding the high compression parts at the bottom part thereof. The high compression parts 60 include: true-circular first high compression parts 61 and second high compression parts 62 each of which has a long axis and a short axis, and the length of the long axis of which is longer than the diameter of the first high compression parts.
