The invention relates to a closure device (1) for closing a container (2), in particular a container for medicinal or pharmaceutical products, having a lid (3) with an encircling flange (6), which can be positioned on an encircling flange (7) of the container. The lid is secured by means of a clamp (8) with a U-shaped cross-section, said clamp enclosing the two flanges (6, 7).
