PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air purification device which highly efficiently removes particulates and gaseous substances included in air while suppressing a rise of a pressure loss.SOLUTION: An air purification device 1 has: an intake port 3 and an exhaust port 4 which are arranged at a box body 2； an air-liquid contact part 5 in which air introduced into the box body 2 from the intake port 3 contacts with washing water； water spray means 6 which sprays the washing water to the air-liquid contact part 5； washing water storage means 7 which stores the washing water； and washing water lubrication means 8 for lubricating the washing water. The air-liquid contact part 5 has a mat-shaped fiber aggregate which is different in fiber concentrations in thickness directions therein. The fiber aggregate is formed by coupling curled fibers, and by the fact that tips of the fibers are located by larger number at one face of the fiber aggregate than the other face, one face becomes low in the concentration, and the other face becomes high in the concentration. Furthermore, the fiber aggregate is arranged between the intake port 3 and the exhaust port 4 so that one face is located at the intake port 3 side and the other face is located at the exhaust port side 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】圧力損失の上昇を抑えながら、空気に含まれる微粒子やガス状物質を高効率で除去する空気浄化装置を提供する。【解決手段】空気浄化装置１は、筐体２に設けられた吸気口３および排気口４と、吸気口３から筐体２内に導入された空気が洗浄水に接触する気液接触部５と、気液接触部５に洗浄水を散水する散水手段６と、洗浄水を貯留する洗浄水貯留手段７と、洗浄水を循環させる洗浄水循環手段８と、を有している。気液接触部５は、内部に、厚み方向で繊維密度が異なるマット状の繊維集合体を有している。繊維集合体は、カール状の繊維が結合されたものであり、繊維集合体の一方の面に他方の面よりも繊維の先端部が多く位置することで、一方の面が低密度であるとともに、他方の面が高密度である。さらに、繊維集合体は、一方の面が吸気口３側に位置し、他方の面が排気口４側に位置するように、吸気口３と排気口４との間に配置されている。【選択図】図１
