A filter for purifying air according to the present invention includes an optical fiber layer having at least one optical fiber emitting a part of light, received through one end and emitted along the longitudinal direction through the surface, forming a planar layer, and being distributed to make air to pass through in the thickness direction of the layer； and an adsorbing layer forming a parallel layer with the optical fiber layer, having a porous structure which can make the air to pass through the surface in the thickness direction, and containing an absorbent absorbing gaseous pollutant from the passed air. The absorbent composing the adsorbing layer includes active carbon fiber and active carbon particle coated with a photocatalyst. The air purifier of the present invention comprises the air purifying filter and a light source emitting UV rays, visible light, or mixed light thereof to a part of the air purifying filter with the optical fiber and one part of the filter.
