The present invention relates to a use of Hsian-tsao (Mesona procumbens Hemsl.) extracts for preparing a pharmaceutical composition for promoting wound healing. The extracts according to the present invention, e.g. ethanol extracts of Hsian-tsao or polysaccharides from water extracts of Hsian-tsao, can regulate wound healing related factors and thus enhance wound healing. As such, the Hsian-tsao (Mesona procumbens Hemsl.) extracts can be applied to improve the diabetic wound healing and decrease the risk of infection.本發明係關於一種仙草萃取物於製備促進傷口癒合醫藥組成物之用途，該萃取物係萃取自仙草(Mesona procumbens Hemsl.)，藉由其中仙草乙醇萃取物、仙草多醣萃取物及其複方，促進傷口癒合的速度，可應用於改善糖尿病患者傷口不易癒合的問題，進而降低感染的風險。
