PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calorie consumption measuring method and a device capable of measuring the calorie consumption not only in a special exercise but in a daily life and other exercises and measuring the calorie consumption by taking account of an individual difference such as a physical strength without using a complicated device.SOLUTION: This calorie consumption method and device are so formed that the heartbeat of a subject whose energy metabolic rate in a living activity state is known is measured, the calorie consumption in the living activity state is calculated based on the energy metabolic rate, and the age, weight, and gender of the subject, a regression formula of the subject is deduced from the relations, and afterwards, the calorie consumption is calculated by the heartbeat alone.COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO【課題】 特定の運動時だけでなく、日常生活、その他の運動時においても消費カロリーの測定が可能で、また、煩雑な装置を使用することなく体力などの個人差を考慮して消費カロリーが測定可能な消費カロリーの測定方法および、消費カロリー測定装置を提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】 上記課題を解決するため、本発明の消費カロリー測定方法および消費カロリー測定装置においては、エネルギー代謝率が既知の生活活動状態における前記被験者の心拍数を測定し、前記エネルギー代謝率と、前記被験者の年齢、体重、性別から前記生活活動状態における消費カロリーを算出し、これらの関係から、前記被験者の前記回帰式を導出し、以降は心拍数の測定のみで消費カロリーを算出することとしている。
