The present invention relates to an implant comprising at least two layersmade of fibers and bioactive material arrangedbetween said at least two layers, the bioactive material being selected fromthe group consisting of bioactive glass, hydroxyapatite,tricalciumphosphate and mixtures thereof. In the implant, at least one of thelayers is at least mainly formed of a mesh,which is made of glass fibers having a diameter of 3-100 µm, and whereinthe mesh size is selected such that the bioactive materialis retained within the implant. In addition, the layers are embedded in amatrix made of a resin selected from the group consisting ofpolyesters, epoxies, acrylates and mixtures thereof, and the layers areattached to each other along the contour of the implant.
