PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of retaking data in a case that the data is collected during a systolic period.SOLUTION: A control means 61 transmits a heart phase calculating instruction for calculating the heart phase of a subject 9 to a heart phase calculating means 64 during a waiting time W2. The heart phase calculating means 64 calculates the heart phase of the subject 9 at a predetermined time during the waiting time W2 upon the reception of the heart phase calculating instruction to transmit the calculated result to the control means 61. The control means 61 decides whether the heart phase CP2 belongs to a diastolic period Pd and determines whether the data is retaken on the basis of the decision result.
