The present invention provides a system for assessing quality of functioning of at least one surgical object, comprising: a. at least one imaging device configured to provide at least one image of at least part of a field of view of said surgical environment； b. processor in communication with said imaging device； and, c. communicable database configured to (i) store at least one second parameter associated with said at least one item； (ii) store at least one said first parameter of at least one said item； wherein from comparison between said at least one first parameter and said at least one second parameter, said quality of functioning is ascertainable for at least one surgical object.
