The present invention provides a system for assessing quality of functioning of at least one surgical object, comprising: a. at least one imaging device configured to provide at least one image of at least part of a field of view of said surgical environment; b. processor in communication with said imaging device; and, c. communicable database configured to (i) store at least one second parameter associated with said at least one item; (ii) store at least one said first parameter of at least one said item; wherein from comparison between said at least one first parameter and said at least one second parameter, said quality of functioning is ascertainable for at least one surgical object.
