A kit and method are presented for making a mending device, such as a splint, for immobilizing a body part, such as a limb. The kit includes a formable material and heating source. The heating source is used to selectively heat the formable material to an elevated material, molding the formable material into a required shape for the mending device and allowing the molded material to cool to room temperature and become hard again. The formable material may be molded on or around and in contact with the desired body part. The heating source may include a chemical composition that is selectively activated, for example by adding water to it.Cette invention concerne un kit et un procédé de fabrication dun dispositif de réparation, tel quune attelle, destiné à immobiliser une partie du corps, tel quun membre. Ledit kit comprend un matériau formable et une source de chauffage. La source de chauffage est utilisée pour réchauffer sélectivement le matériau formable pour obtenir un matériau à haute température, mouler le matériau formable en une forme requise pour le dispositif de réparation et laisser refroidir le matériau moulé à la température ambiante afin quil redevienne dur. Le matériau formable peut être moulé sur la partie du corps concernée ou autour de celle-ci et en contact avec elle. La source de chauffage peut comprendre une composition chimique qui est activée de façon sélective, par exemple par adjonction deau.
