A head-worn apparatus features an elongated flexible member having first and second slits therein proximate opposing ends thereof for respective engagement of first and second tufts of hair through the slits at respective locations on the users head. Tape, clips or other securing elements are used to bundle together the strands of hair in each tuft and prevent sliding of the tufts out from the respective slits, thereby maintaining the apparatus in place in the users hair. In one embodiment, the elongated member is connected proximately rearward of the forehead on opposite sides of the head, and is sufficiently tensioned to tighten facial areas near these locations. In another embodiment, the elongated member is used to hang one or more jewelry items in the users hair. The flexible member has a series of holes through which additional hair can be passed to conceal it from sight beneath the users hair.
