An angling aid for line-fishing, preferably for catching catfish, comprising a housing (1), an electronic sound generating unit (4) arranged in the housing (1), a control and display unit (5), a power supply (6) and a loudspeaker (2) connected to an output of the sound generating unit (4). The sound generating unit (4) comprises at least one of a memory unit (9) comprising at least one sound sample as digital signal suitable for luring a fish in the direction of the loudspeaker (2) and an audio generator (8) producing such a sound sample； the control and display unit (5) comprises a trigger unit (21) the output of which is connected to the control input of the memory unit (9) or the audio generator (8), and its input being connected to a manually operable trigger elements fixed in the housing (1)； and the loudspeaker (2) is designed as a separate unit connected by a cable (3) to an output connector (13) of the housing (4).
