Disclosed is a method for protecting an animal from a parasitic invertebrate pest comprising treating an animal orally or by injection with a pesticidally effective amount of a 5 compound of Formula 1, R R/ N 4 0 6 wherein R 1 is halogen, CI-C 3 haloalkyl or CI-C 3 haloalkoxy; 10 R2 is H, halogen, CI-C 3 alkyl, CI-C 3 haloalkyl or cyano; R 3 is H, halogen, CI-C 3 haloalkyl or CI-C 3 haloalkoxy; R4 is halogen, CI-C 3 alkyl, CI-C 3 haloalkyl or CI-C 3 haloalkoxy; R5 is H, CH 3, C2-C 4 alkylcarbonyl, C2-C 4 haloalkylcarbonyl, C2-C 5 alkoxycarbonyl or CH2 O(Ci-C 3 alkyl); 15 R6 is CI-C 6 alkyl, CI-C 6 haloalkyl, C3-C 6 cycloalkyl or C3-C 6 halocycloalkyl, each group substituted with one R 7 ; or R 6 is (CH 2 )mQ; and Q, R 7 , R 8 a and R8b are as defined in the disclosure.
