An oligonucleotide having whitening effect is provided to suppress the movement of melanosome from a melanocyte to keratocyte. A whitening agent comprises 15bp-25bp of antisense oligonucleotide which is complementary sequence to mRNA of kinesin gene. The antisense oligonucleotide is 15bp-25 bp of oligonucleotide having complementary sequence to mRNA of human kinesin heavy chain gene (GeneBank Accession No. X65873). The antisense oligonucleotide is selected from gene sequence of the sequence numbers 1(SEQ ID NO:1) to 8. The content of antisense oligonucleotide is 0.00001-10.0 weight%.
