The present invention related to a composition comprising an aqueous soluble-chitosan and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Said composition can be used to increase the defecation rate of an individual. Together with the well known biocompatibility of chitosan,the present invention proves that the aqueous soluble-chitosan may be a potential candidate for enhancing intestinal metabolism.La présente invention concerne une composition comprenant un chitosane soluble en milieu aqueux et un excipient de qualité pharmaceutique. Ladite composition peut être utilisée pour augmenter la fréquence de défécation d'un sujet. Conjointement avec la biocompatibilité bien connue du chitosane, la présente invention prouve que le chitosane soluble en milieu aqueux peut être un candidat potentiel pour améliorer le métabolisme intestinal.
