PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for storing seedlings and a method for transferring seedlings, each improving work efficiency in transferring operation for transferring seedlings of seaweed grown on the ground. SOLUTION: According to the device for storing seedlings and the method for transferring seedlings, seedlings 2 of seaweed are grown on the ground, the seedlings are transferred into the bottom of the sea, and transplanted on the bottom of the sea. The seedlings 2 are grown in a seaweed plate 5, and the seaweed plate 5 is stored in the device for storing and transferring the seedlings 1. Utilizing the storing device 1 makes it possible to improve working efficiency in comparison with the case when transferred by worker's hand operation such as bundling with strings. The device for storing seedlings is convenient because of its small size so as to be transferred via home delivery services. Attaining such transfer of the seedlings 2 results in growing the seedlings 2 at one place in a large scale and transferring them to respective transplanting places, and thereby does a lot for such transplanting operations.
