The present invention relates to a composition containing an onion skin extract, which can be used as a functional ingredient to boost an immune function, as an active ingredient to boost an immune function by confirming an effect of the onion skin extract on the immune function boost through animal tests. The present invention more particularly relates to a composition which contains, as an active ingredient, an onion skin extract to boost an immune function by making onion skin powder to have the concentration of 10 to 20 mg/ml using purified water, and performing the hot-water extraction of an onion skin powder solution for 30 to 60 minutes at 80 to 100°;C and pH 6 to 7 conditions. The present invention increases lymphocytes, activation of cytokine, cortex of thymus, white pulp of spleen, and antioxidant activity; and boosts the immune function by improving the endurance by providing the composition containing the onion skin extract as an active ingredient to boost the immune function. Also, the present invention can provide a method for manufacturing the onion skin extract which is capable of efficiently extracting physiologically active substances including quercetin contained in the onion skin in an environment-friendly way using a hot-water extraction method with low costs. Also, the present invention can provide a functional ingredient composition to boost the immune function by including the onion skin extract as an active ingredient and adding food additives.본 발명은 양파껍질 추출물이 면역기능 강화에 미치는 효과를 동물실험을 통해 확인함으로써, 면역기능을 강화시키는 건강기능식품의 기능성 원료로 활용할 수 있는 면역기능 강화를 위한 양파껍질 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 조성물에 관한 것으로, 특히 양파껍질 추출물을 열수추출법을 이용하여 추출하는 경우에는, 양파껍질 분말을 정제수를 이용하여 10 ~ 20㎎/㎖의 농도로 만든 후 80 ~ 100℃, pH 6 ~ 7에서 30 ~ 60분간 열수추출하는 것을 특징으로 하는 면역기능 강화를 위한 양파껍질 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 조성물에 관한 것이다.본 발명은 면역기능 강화를 위한 양파껍질 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 조성물을 제공함으로써 림프구, 사이토카인 활성, 흉선의 피질, 비장의 백색수질 및 항산화력을 증가시키고 지구력을 향상시켜 면역기능을 강화시키는 효과가 있다. 또한 열수추출법을 이용하여 친환경적이면서 저비용 및 효율적으로 양파껍질에 함유되어 있는 케르세틴을 포함한 생리활성물질을
