The present invention provides an mRNA for use in the treatment and/or prevention of a disease, wherein the mRNA is administered to the epidermis. Furthermore, the invention provides compositions comprising the mRNA for epidermal administration or kits comprising the mRNA for epidermal administration. Moreover, the invention concerns the medical use of the mRNA or compositions comprising the mRNA, wherein the mRNA or compositions comprising the mRNA are administered to the epidermis.
