Respiratory assistance device (1) for a patient having a tubular member forming a main channel (5) (207) which is intended to be connected by its distal end (7) to a respiratory tract of the patient, said main channel connecting to outside the respiratory system of said patient by its proximal end (6), said device further comprising at least one auxiliary channel (8) (209) for injecting breathing gas jets (s) intended for the ventilating said patient by distal outlets (17) of the auxiliary channel (s), said outlet openings opening into said main channel in the vicinity of the distal end thereof, deflection means (14b) (14a) allowing the deflecting gas jets inward of said main channel. The device is characterized by a coaxial and central jet airway that is central to the main channel and which, in addition, provides a bypass for exhalation gases.
