A saw (50) for pivoting a blade (52) in a sagittal plane. The saw includes two drive members (96, 114) that displace the blade. One drive member (114) pivotally displaces the blade in the sagittal plane. The second drive member (96) reciprocates the blade along the longitudinal axis of the blade. The drive members displace the blade at different frequencies. Consequently the teeth (186) of the blade travel in a loop (200) pattern that crosses itself.
