PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an effect that recording can be made according to a display mode.SOLUTION: An endoscope apparatus includes: a first processing unit that, given an endoscope image from an endoscope equipped with an image pick-up device, generates an image for display； a second processing unit that, given an ultrasonic image from an ultrasonic observation device for generating an ultrasonic image based on an ultrasonic signal from an ultrasonic vibrator, generates an image for display； a display control unit that enables the endoscope image and the ultrasonic image from the first and second processing units to be displayed in a plurality of display modes individually or in a synthesized manner； a recording image generation unit that can generate a first still image for recording based on the endoscope image and a second still image for recording based on the ultrasonic image； and a control unit that executes recording control in a first recording mode to record the image according to the setting of the display mode by the display control unit, of the first and second still images.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
