The present system discloses a data acquisition server for monitoring sensor data on a patient, the server controlling a plurality of sensors, each comprising a data acquisition circuit for measuring data on the patient, the server being operable to receive selection of a first sensor for capturing a first data on a patient, retrieve in a sensor database controlled by the data acquisition server a first mapping rule associated to the first sensor, the first mapping rule defining among the plurality of sensors a subset of secondary sensors linked to the first sensor, a sensor being a secondary sensor to the first sensor when measuring a type of data that characterizes the context of measurement by the first sensor, controlling the data acquisition circuit of the first sensor to capture first data, controlling the data acquisition circuit of each secondary sensors from the subset of sensors, to capture secondary data, retrieve in the sensor database a first rendering rule associated to the first sensor, the first rendering rule defining rules to process the second data prior to rendering, rendering on a user interface controlled by the data acquisition server the captured first data and the second data based on the first rendering rule.
