The invention relates to a self-watering pot for plants which comprises a tank wherein an amount of water can be stored to be periodically distributed to the plant depending on the needs thereof, being used in dwellings, houses, flats, on terraces, in agriculture, greenhouses, parks and street arrangements. According to the invention, the pot comprises a vessel and a tank, inside the vessel there being located some lateral tubes () through which the air circulates into the mass of soil and which allow the adjustment of the time interval between two waterings by means of ornaments on some slots (), and in one of said lateral tubes () there is located a float () and a stopper (), the elements essential for the functioning of the pot, when the tank is filled with water for the first time, the water runs towards the plant by means of a hose (), the earth absorbing water as much as it needs, and the water in excess descending to the pot bottom where it is filtered through a sieve () and passing further on into the lateral tubes () so that upon a small increase of the water level in said tubes, the float () ascends and actuates the stopper () which blocks the orifice () stopping the watering, and after a while, the water within the tubes evaporates urging the float () to descend, said float actuating the stopper () which unblocks the orifice () for discharging the water from the tank, thereby starting the watering, after which the whole cycle is resumed.
