The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating mental illness associated with the brain and nerve system, the composition containing chemokine-like samdori-2 (Sam2) as an active ingredient. The pharmaceutical composition containing samdori-2 as an active ingredient can be used to advantage as a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating mental illness associated with the brain and nerve system, since, on creating a zebrafish with specific knockout of Sam2 expressed in the habenula neucleus, it was confirmed that such zebrafish exhibit a relatively high level of fear and anxiety behavior as compared with a control group in novel-tank, scototaxis and social cohesion tests, and it has been confirmed that inhibitory nerve expression is weakened in nerve cells that have over-expressed the Sam2 gene, and it has been confirmed that signs of autism and hyper-anxiety are exhibited in patients arising from Sam2 gene loss.본 발명은 chemokine-like Samdori2(Sam2)를 유효성분으로 함유하는 뇌신경계 관련 정신질환의 예방 및 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것으로, 고삐핵에서 발현하는 Sam2 특이적인 녹아웃 제브라피쉬를 제작하였으며, 노벨탱크(novel tank), socototaxis 및 social cohesion 테스트를 통하여 상기 제브라피쉬가 대조군에 비해 상당히 높은 공포 및 불안행동을 나타내는 것을 확인하였으며, Sam2 유전자를 과발현한 신경세포에서 억제성 신경 발현이 약화 되는 것을 확인하였으며, Sam2 유전자 손실로 인한 환자에서 자폐증 및 과불안증상을 나타내는 것을 확인함으로써, 상기 Samdori2를 유효성분으로 함유하는 뇌신경계 관련 정신질환의 예방 및 치료용 약학적 조성물로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
