PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a radiation field and a control method thereof are provided to position a photographed body portion according to images by displaying transmitted images from an image output part on an irradiation area. CONSTITUTION: A radiation apparatus includes a radiation generator(1) and a radiation field control apparatus(4) controlling an irradiated route and area of radiation generated from the radiation generator. An x-ray generator includes an electrode forming a filament emitting a thermo electron and an intensive electric field with a high voltage. The radiation field control apparatus is arranged in the front of the x-ray generator. The x-ray generator includes a diaphragm(3) controlling the irradiated route and area of X-rays. The radiation field control apparatus includes diaphragm(5) controlling the irradiated route and area of the X-rays, a light source(6) outputting visible rays, a reflector(7) controlling the route of the visible rays outputted from the light source, and an image output part(10) forming images on the irradiated area of the X-rays.방사선이 조사되는 영역에 이미지를 형성할 수 있는 이미지출력부를 포함하는 방사선 조사야 조절장치 및 그 제어방법을 제공한다. 방사선 조사야 조절장치는 방사선의 조사영역을 조절하는 복수의 조리개, 방사선의 조사영역을 표시할 수 있도록 광을 출력하는 광원, 광원으로부터 조사되는 광의 경로를 조절하는 반사경 및 광원으로부터 조사되는 광의 투과 시 방사선 조사영역에 이미지를 형성하는 이미지출력부를 포함한다.
