PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterminating material for harmful animals which is easy in production and use and can exterminate harmful animals such as a wild boar more reliably and for a long period of time, and to provide an extermination method.SOLUTION: The exterminating material for harmful animals includes a powder containing a pungent component derived from a plant such as habanero, Bhut Jolokia, and Noh Taka chili pepper sealed in a capsule used when people swallow a medicine. The amount of the powder to be sealed is set at a level where, when harmful animals to be exterminated eat one to three pieces, most suitably one piece, of the exterminating material, these harmful animals will be in a state of fainting in agony or close to fainting in agony but not resulting in death. The extermination method for harmful animals includes sealing the exterminating material in a crop which is liked by the harmful animals to be exterminated and installing or placing the resulting crop in a field which is going to be prevented from the harm by animals.【課題】製造及び使用が簡単で、より確実かつ長期間に猪などの有害鳥獣を駆除することができる駆除材及び駆除方法を提供する。【解決手段】ハバネロ、ブート・ジョロキア、能鷹唐辛子などの植物由来の辛味成分を含む粉末を、人が薬剤を嚥下するのに用いるカプセルに封入してなる有害鳥獣の駆除材である。封入する粉末の量は、駆除対象の有害鳥獣が前記駆除材の１～３個、最適には１個を食したときに、当該鳥獣が悶絶又は悶絶に近い状態となるが、死には至らない量とする。有害鳥獣の駆除方法は、この発明の駆除材を駆除しようとする有害鳥獣が好む作物の中に封入して、鳥獣の害を防止しようとする畑に設置ないし置いておくというものである。【選択図】なし
